Playing Word Games for Peak Performance
I received a great response to my last newsletter in which I discussed the “Dennis Effect”. - that magical thing that happens when you replace words and thoughts of negativity with an uplifting mantra such as “I love it, I love it!”

It’s amazing but just saying those 3 words when exercising will instantly give you more energy and strength.

One of our trainers here at Fitness Together Mandarin has recently started incorporating the Dennis Effect into his sessions with clients and it’s working so well I had to share it with you:

For the entire session, whenever he asks how you’re doing, you’re only allowed to reply with a positive comment and you can’t use the same reply more than once.

Everyone starts with the easy replies – such as, “Good!” and “Great!” but by halfway through the session the game starts to get a bit more challenging.

Some of my favorite responses have been, “wicked awesome”, “radical”, “fantabulous”, “Skipalicious” (this came from Skip) …

Try playing this game yourself or with a friend the next time you exercise – I guarantee it will have you smiling pretty quickly and you’ll also have one of your best workouts in a long time.
